About Ryan K. Thompson
Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah. He also possesses a Master of Public Health in Urban Health Disparities from Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science.
In 2015, he and his wife relocated to Baton Rouge, Louisiana with their two beautiful daughters to attend graduate school within the Southern University System. He obtained his Juris Doctorate from The Southern University Law Center in 2019. Upon graduation the decided to make Baton Rouge home. For over a decade Ryan has been a fierce defender of the indigent, oppressed, under represented and those who have had their rights infringed upon by those in power.
A New Vision for East Boton Rouge
My vision is to lead a District Attorney’s office built on integrity, accountability, and results. The people deserve a justice system that protects victims, holds offenders responsible, and applies the law fairly — without bias, favoritism, or political influence.
Public safety is the foundation of every strong community. As District Attorney, I will prioritize the prosecution of violent crime while ensuring that every case is handled with professionalism and respect for constitutional rights. Justice must be both firm and fair. It requires responsible discretion, ethical decision-making, and transparency that earns public trust.
I believe in working closely with law enforcement, community leaders, and families to address crime at its roots while maintaining clear standards of accountability. An effective District Attorney’s office does more than prosecute cases — it strengthens neighborhoods, supports victims, and restores confidence in the legal system.
My commitment is simple: measurable results, safer communities, and equal justice under the law. The District Attorney’s office must serve the people with consistency and integrity, because justice is not a political tool — it is a public responsibility.
